This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of western and north
central Nebraska.
.DAY ONE...This afternoon and tonight.
A heat advisory remains in effect for locations generally west of
US-183. An extreme heat warning is in effect for locations east of
US-183, where heat indices between 105 and 107 are possible. See the
latest headline for additional details.
Isolated thunderstorms are possible this evening along and north of
Highway 2 and east of Highway 83. These storms could produce strong
winds and large hail.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.
Heat index values will approach 100 degrees for portions of central
and north central Nebraska Sunday afternoon ahead of a cold front.
Near-daily thunderstorm chances return on Sunday night through
Wednesday. There is a Slight Risk for severe thunderstorms on Sunday
afternoon and evening, east of Highway 83, with a Marginal Risk for
all other areas in western and north central Nebraska. There is a
Marginal Risk for severe thunderstorms Monday for areas along and
south of Interstate 80. The severe outlook beyond Monday is
uncertain at this time.

This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of panhandle
Nebraska...east central Wyoming and southeast Wyoming.
.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT
Hot temperatures will continue today with highs near 100 degrees
over western Nebraska and far eastern Wyoming.
Southwest winds may gust as high as 50 MPH along the Interstate 25
corridor this morning through early this afternoon. Winds are
forecast to diminish by mid to late afternoon.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY
Thunderstorms will return to the area as early as Sunday
afternoon, but will be more widespread late Monday through
Thursday of next week. There is a marginal risk of strong to
severe thunderstorms Sunday afternoon across east central Wyoming
and the northern Nebraska panhandle.

The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity values will
lead to heat indices this afternoon from the upper 90s to low 100s. A
heat advisory remains in effect from portions of south central South
Dakota into northeast South Dakota and west central Minnesota.
There`s a marginal risk (level 1 of 5) for severe storms across
northeast South Dakota and west central Minnesota this afternoon.
Storm development is highly conditional as there remains a strong
atmospheric cap in place. If any storm were to develop, hail and
strong winds are the main threats.

A marginal (1 out of 5) to slight risk (2 out of 5) for severe
storms will be possible on Sunday with large hail, damaging winds and
